During the last quarter of 2015 I was reflecting on what I would like to do in 2016. For years now I no longer set resolutions or specific objectives to be achieved. I realized that many times I don’t do what I set up to do or I’m no longer interested in them. Now, what I do is set intentions and connect to words without being attached to the details or setting clear plan, by paying attention to signs and synchronicity, by planting the seeds and trusting their growth at the right time. What I know now I need to do: Move and inspire others to move.
Seeds I’m planting now for 2016
Workshops:
I’m looking forward to offer workshops with the objective of stimulating movement creativity and connecting to the body. My ideal vision is to have a series of workshops that focuses on different parts of the body, music and emotions. The workshops are experiential in nature but does not need any prior experience in dance or Nia. I would like to see more people feel the joy of moving in their bodies, connect to their true self through self expression and dance.
Retreat:
I would like to organize or participate in a weekend retreat somewhere in the gulf region, my eyes on Oman. My desire for everyone who attend the retreat is to spend a relaxing weekend while being inspired by holistic classes/workshops/talks that engage mind, body, emotion and spirit. It could be something like this: yoga/Nia in the morning, workshop/talk afternoon, free time to relax or social talk, community dance/creative movement. The options are endless!
